This Adorable Video of a Dad ‘Breastfeeding’ His Newborn Is Taking Over the Internet
What happened was actually a pretty common occurrence.
One Twitter user has the internet in stitches after posting a video of himself ‘breastfeeding’ his baby daughter. The fact that his she was latching onto him to nurse didn’t seem to bother dad though. He just captioned the video pointing out that she was “OBVIOUSLY confused.” While there were a couple of naysayers calling it out as weird, the now-viral tweet has most people stepping up to bat for the dad.
As other Twitter users were quick to point out, what his daughter is doing is actually completely normal. Comfort nursing is just when a baby sucks on something to relax themselves rather than to eat. The thing is that they’ll do it on just about anything they can get their mouths on. In this case, she just started doing it in her sleep. Beyond all that, it’s just, you know, cute?
“It’s not weird, it’s sweet. It’s one of those common moments every dad goes through with their baby, it’s cute and funny,” wrote one commenter.
Another commenter noted that people were “dumb as hell” for getting in their feelings about a “confused, but loving dad NOT overreacting to his baby comfort nursing.”
Overall, it’s been a good year for dads figuring out interesting ways to essentially breastfeed their kids. There was the one New York dad who poked a hole in his shirt and slipped the bottle nipple through so he could feed his daughter at work. There was also the dad who stepped up and wore a breastfeeding device when his wife was suffering from complications from giving birth.
