Ryan Reynolds has become one of the more popular celebrity dads thanks in no small part to his tweets where he shares unconventional parenting advice and hilarious interactions with his two daughters, Ines and James. But, according to wife Blake Lively, a lot of Reynolds’ stories might not be as true as everyone thought. In an interview with Glamour, Lively explained that most of the stories about their daughters that Reynolds shares on Twitter are, um, bullshit.

“He may as well work for the Enquirer,” Lively told the magazine. “When he says ‘my daughter,’ he’s never, ever talking about her. Everything is a completely made-up scenario. He’ll run them by me sometimes just to make me laugh. But oh, I’m so in love with him when he writes that stuff.”

People will likely be surprised at this, but it shouldn’t come as a shock. First off, many of Reynolds’ tweets are clearly a joke, like when he discusses dropping one of his daughters off at Burning Man or their celebration of parents dying in Disney movies. Secondly, even if the more realistic-seeming Tweets aren’t true, who cares? Reynolds simply likes to get a little weird and point out the absurdity of life as a parent. Besides, it’s better that he writes fun, fake tweets than real ones that will embarrass his daughters when they’re old enough to comb through his digital records.

If anything, this whole situation exposes society’s strange desire to get an intimate look at the lives of celebrities. People have a tendency to obsess over celebrity babies and parents despite having never met the family before. That’s their problem. So even if Reynolds is making up all of these stories, it’s really none of our business. Just enjoy the silliness and continue counting down the days until Deadpool 2 hits theaters.
