Maya Rudolph Is Pumped To Play Kamala Harris on SNL Again
Will Maya come back to play the formidable woman?
When yesterday’s news that former Vice President and current Democratic candidate for president Joe Biden had chosen Kamala Harris as his vice presidential pick hit, many people had the same question: does this mean that Maya Rudolph will become a Saturday Night Live series regular? The comedienne made waves last year during the Democratic nominee debates for her performance as Harris, and even got one Emmy nomination for her performance as the senator and former presidential candidate, and now that Harris is officially on a ticket, super-fans of the venerated actress only have one question: how many more times will we be able to see her hilarious rendition of the lawmaker?
Well, luckily, it appears that Rudolph is more than game to take on the role once again. Entertainment Weekly got the interview of the year when they were already recording a panel with Rudolph as a guest when the news re: Harris broke. Her immediate reaction to the news was a simple, “That’s spicy,” but when her interviewer asked if she’d make it back to SNL to continue her take on Harris, she said, “I love going to the show any excuse I can get… Ever since I was a kid, truly, I wanted to be on any kind of SCTV, Saturday Night Live, and I can’t believe that I got to work there. I can’t believe that it’s my family still, and I’m so thrilled that I got to go back. It’s my favorite place to play.” So, its sounds like Rudolph will be back for sure to portray the lawmaker. Nice!
